The Boston is a comfortable portering chair typically prescribed as part of a 24 hour postural and pressure care routine. With pressure management technologies available on all support surfaces the Boston is a leader in effortless and safe risk management. 

The Boston is a good all-rounder pressure chair but is most commonly used to manage conditions such as Parkinsons, Motor Neurone Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, Stroke victims, Neurological disorders and many other life-limiting conditions. Due to its ease of use, ability to quickly adapt to changing requirements and cost-effectiveness the Boston is frequently used to manage clients receiving end of life care. 

With dual functions of recline and tilt in both manual or electric versions the Boston can be controlled manually at the rear by a carer, or electrically by the user with a handset. With a battery pack fitted the electric version can be operated without being plugged into the mains for a number of cycles, ideal for garden parties or other social gatherings away from power sockets. 

A wide range of base cushions are available to provide the best combination of support, envelopment and immersion for high risk pressure management. Similarly a wide range of backrest styles are available to accommodate a wide range of presentations including obliquities, fixed hip angles, spinal curvatures including kyphosis, lordosis and scoliosis, and clients with spinal rods. 

The Boston is available in two versions - the Adult and the Junior - with the latter prescribed predominantly for paediatric clients, young adults and those with low BMI's. Each Boston can be make unique with thousands of colour and pattern combinations possible on the outer wings to suit any care home, living room or bedroom.

This is a product sold on prescription and is available in many different configurations. Getting this right for you or your client is of great importance to us and as such we offer free assessments and demonstrations.

Our assessments scale in complexity depending on the clinical requirements and can be conducted over the telephone for low complexity equipment or more typically here in the assessment suite or at your residence.

All assessments are currently free to both private and NHS clients for equipment with values over £150 ex VAT.
