The Sunrise Medical Jay Extreme Action pressure cushion is designed to provide low to moderate positioning support but high pressure management - great for active wheelchair users who are highly active but who spend many hours seated. The Jay Extreme is also low profile, moderately lightweight compared to many other gel cushions and stylish.

The Jay Extreme is a popular choice within the active wheelchair market but is also suitable for use on powerchairs too. Similar to the Jay Balance cushion the Jay Extreme is slightly thinner, lighter and approximately 20% cheaper too!

The Jay Extreme has a single density foam base with no contouring but does feature a deep ischial well to contain the gel sacs. The gel sacs can be ordered with a reduced amount of gel (the Extreme) or a standard amount of gel (Active) depending on the requirements. The trade off is between the overall cushion weight and the amount of immersion provided by the gel. For those who prefer their gel sacs to be overfilled this is also possible as a custom option.

Wrapping around the entire cushion is an ultra-soft four way stretch platilon liner which prevents fluid ingress into the foam. Then for the top surface there is a choice of two outers - a breathable and antimicrobial microclimatic surface, or a wipeable and stretchy second incontinence barrier.
