The name 'Vicair' is synonymous with industry leading pressure management qualities in cushions, backrests and mattresses. Occupying a niche between static air and foam the Vicair cushion range provides exceptional levels of risk management while also being capable of maintaining correct pelvic and postural support. The Vicair range all utilise the same underlying technology called SmartCells which provide pressure relief as good as air cushions do without many of the downsides from leakage or loss of stability. The main differences across the Vicair cushion range amount to the location of the SmartCell pockets and how these can be used to offload pressure where needed, or provide additional pelvic support where needed. 

The Vicair Vector O2 cushion features nine separate compartments of SmartCells which allows clinicians and prescribers to manage more complex seated postures. Of the rear four compartments, the centre two are positioned to provide very high risk management of the common pressure points generated by the ischial tuberosities (bum bones - sitting bones) while the outer two are more densely filled to provide additional trochanter support. If a client requires offloading of the IT's this is possible by redistributing cells where required. 

The front five compartments are designed for stability and positioning purposes alongside offering a safe and comfortable seated surface. For clients who present with windsweeping or abduction or adduction the cells can be redistributed to provide good alignment and to encourage good posture. 

Any Vicair cushions with the word O2 in the name indicates it is washable in its entirety with the exception of the Vicair Active. The Vicair Active O2 is the only Vicair cushion to have a foam component within it and care should be taken to remove the foam from the cover before washing. The ability to wash the entire cushion enables very high standards of hygiene to be maintained and with fast drying materials this can be done overnight while the cushion isn't in use.
