The Repose Melrose portering chair is a popular pressure management chair used in care homes and nursing homes. Within seconds the seat width and depth can be altered making it the perfect tool for safely managing various clients of different sizes. The Melrose is equipped with manual Tilt In Space and an independently controlled backrest recline and leg elevating ensuring the best position can be found.

The Melrose's Tilt In Space mechanism maintains a preferred hip angle while redistributing pressure away from the high risk pressure points on the bottom. Fully customisable with a range of pressure cushions, backrest styles and fabrics the Melrose is a capable and comfortable chair.

The Melrose is a prescription 'comfy' chair able to manage clients at low risk through to medium-high risk of skin breakdown and pressure ulceration. A wide range of pressure cushions including different densities of visco foam, different types of gels and static and dynamic air ensure different risk levels can be managed correctly. Similarly a range of seven removable and interchangeable back cushion styles mean one chair can work for multiple clients or can be future-proofed as a core piece of equipment for many different residents.

The Melrose has been designed to be moved within a care environment to reduce the amount of hoists a client has to undergo during the day, but is also great for supporting 'sit to stand' transfers. Typical conditions managed by The Melrose comfy chair include general frailty, arthritis, neurological conditions and stroke.

Available in one chassis size The Melrose achieves its variable seat sizing with clever armrests and a sliding seat board. Width adjustment is achieved via removable armrests. Each armrest pair can be reversed by swapping them from arm to arm. Arm set one can achieve either 17" or 21" width, while arm set two achieves 19" or 21" width. Within seconds the seat can be changed between 17" and 21" inches. Similarly the seat depth can be adjusted between 16" and 22" to accommodate the taller clients.
