The Haven Air is a high risk pressure management rise reclining chair that utilises static air to provide excellent pressure distribution. Equipped with three separate static air systems found in the backrest, seat base and legrest The Haven is able to provide high levels of comfort while reducing pressure related risks from sitting.

The static air cushions are designed to redistribute pressure through immersion and envelopment - a measure of how much the client sinks into the surface and how well the surface responds to the immersion. Each cushion features a single air cell with a barrier of foam ensuring a comfortable seated surface that never stops working to reduce pressure risk.

The Haven is a rise and reclining armchair available in both Single Tilt In Space and Dual Tilt In Space mechanisms, capable of redistributing a clients weight from their bottom and moving it into their back. The tilt mechanism moves the chair backwards whilst maintaining the angle between the backrest, seat cushion and legrest to retain the chosen posture whilst achieving pressure risk reduction.

On the Single Tilt mechanism when the backrest is reclining the legrest will rise too, whereas the Dual Tilt mechanism enables much greater control by allowing the backrest to be reclined independently of the legrest. When tilt is combined with the static air cushioning the Haven is a great chair for clients at high risk of skin breakdown or who are being actively managed for ulceration. As part of a suite of risk management products the Haven Air is typically prescribed for clients undergoing treatment for cancer, those receiving end of life care or the frail and elderly. Due to the prevalence of air cushioning the Haven Air may not be appropriate (or prescribed) for clients with poor pelvic stability or who lack trunk control.

The Haven Air is available in four standard sizes with seat height ranging from 16" to 21". Seat widths of 16" to 22" ensure clients with hip widths of 15" to 21" can be safely seated while a variable seat depth promotes correct seated posture. Incorrectly prescribed chairs can lead to slumping and sliding, which reduces function, affects digestion and breathing and increases the risk of skin breakdown.

As with all chairs from Repose the Haven Air is available in a wide range of different fabrics. Due to the action of the air cushion the inner contact surfaces must be made of vapour permeable material (VP) which provides a 4-way stretch while providing breathability but water resistance. The outer fabrics are available in three different healthcare styles featuring hundreds of colours and patterns.
