The Jay brand is known for its sound ergonomic and anatomic clinical principles working in tandem with mobility products to achieve excellence in seated posture. Within the Jay range there are a number of cushions and backrests to suit differing needs. The Jay 3 range are designed for clients who require a precisely fitting individually tailored backrest. All Jay 3 backrests are compatible with a wide range of wheelchairs and powerchairs thanks to their ability to fit to various different tube circumferences. 

The Jay 3 Deep and the Jay 3 Mid-Deep Contour backrests have a deep and immersive shape providing excellent contact and high levels of lateral control. The Deep and Mid-Deep both offer the same depth of contouring but are differentiated by the height of the lateral support. The Deep provides a high lateral support while the Mid-Deep is mid-thoracic and both are prescribed to suit different client requirements. Clients who exert a lot of energy maintaining midline position, or who lack the ability to maintain an upright trunk are two examples of situations where deep contouring is typically prescribed. 

All Jay backrests are constructed with a hard rear shell providing the rigidity and strength needed for active days, while the wings are mildly flexible to enable fine tuning at point of handover. The mounting hardware enables excellent adaptation to individuals' shape by offering angle, depth and width adjustment - perfect for clients whose presentation may change over the lifetime of the product.
