Sunrise Medical Quickie Xenon2

Frame

The Sunrise Medical Quickie Xenon 2 is a high-end folding wheelchair with a premium look and even more premium performance. Manufactured from aircraft grade aluminium the frame is both lightweight and strong making it perfect for everyday use in both cities and urban environments. With a range of three different font end styles the Quickie Xenon2 gives wheelchair users with a range of needs access to the lightest folding wheelchair in the range.

When weight matters most and only the lightest folding frame will do the Xenon2 is a simple choice. Each frame version offers different advantages - the FF (Fixed-Front) is the lightest (starting from 8.8kg), the Hybrid provides additional reinforcement and recommended for heavier users and powered add-ons, while the third version has swing-away legrests on the front which are ideal for standing transfers.

Weight matters for lifting the wheelchair into vehicles but it also has an important role to play in the conservation of energy. If you can use 10% less energy to get from A to B you'll have more energy left at your destination improving your function and ability to engage without fatiguing.

As seen on one of its competitors, the Progeo Tekna Advance, the Xenon2 has a minimalistic design which to the undiscerning eye looks like a standard rigid frame chair. This is achieved by tucking the folding mechanism up under the wheelchair and by painting it the same colour as the main frame.

The Xenon2 is less adjustable than the heavier versions in the range (the Life and the Neon) which is where it makes some of its weight savings. However, the Xenon2 still retains sufficient adjustability to all the main characteristics such as the centre of gravity making this a good chair even for a beginner.

If you'd like to trial a Xenon2 or want to check out any of its competitors please get in touch as we'd be happy to help.
