Invacare Action Family
Invacare Action Family
The Action wheelchair range from Invacare provides essential support to positively enhance everyday mobility. Ranging from the Action 2NG for short-term use up to the Action 5 entry level active wheelchair there's a chair to suit most low to medium complexity requirements. Their easy handling makes the wheelchairs ideal for basic needs with quality components giving effortless rolling performance both indoors and out.
The tried-and-tested technology of the Action family products allow individuals to go wherever they desire. Cross-compatibility between a number of components on the Action 2 NG, Action 3 NG, Action 4 NG and Action 5 make this an ideal, basic, fleet product that can be easily adapted to meet individual needs.
The Invacare Action 2 wheelchairs are available from the Mobility division in Enbrook Valley, Folkestone, CT20 3NE. Compare the Action 2's with competitor models (Karma Ergo Lite) to see the differences in weight, comfort and usability.
For all bespoke wheelchairs and specialist seating the Action 3 or Action 4 base is likely to be used as these can be made to measure.
The Invacare Action 3 is a core model held at our Healthcare facility and is most often prescribed for clients who require a suitable wheelchair base to aid with correct posture and pressure management while on the move. Alongside the Action 3 base an appropriate pressure cushion will usually be prescribed too. We have demonstrator versions of low to high risk cushions, including the Roho and Vicair static air cushions for very high risk applications. A typical recipient of an Action 3 wheelchair with prescribed cushion will be living either in the community or residential home and will usually use the chairs for a few hours at a time. For persons of short stature, or for those who need a very low 'seat to ground' height for put propulsion purposes may be prescribed an 'Action 3 Compact' base frame.
For clients who require non-standard seat sizes (very tall clients, or those with a body mass over approximately 16 stone) the Action 4 base is more likely to be used. The Action 4 is typically prescribed for clients over 6ft 2 or for those who require seat widths in excess of 19 inches.
Finally, for clients who require a more active setup (think self-propel, adjustable centre of gravity etc) but who are only part time users the Action 5 may be the chair of choice. The Action 5 is a great first active wheelchair and is most commonly prescribed to someone who has a changeable condition or who may only need it part time at first.
The Action range starts from approximately £300 (Action 2), while the Action 3 and 4's typically start from £650 and usually are complete at £900 following assessment.
